This building is an 1805 early American Farm House built by Eric Sloane based on an old diary he found by Noah Blake. Eric wrote the book "Diary of a young American Boy" in 1962. I painted Blake House at the Sloane-Stanley Museum on Rte 7, 1 mile North of Kent, CT.
Eric Sloane was a great supporter of the Kent Art Association and artists were given free passes to the Museum for the paint-out.
Many beautiful paintings were donated and buyers received incredible bargains by many famous artists. Del Bouree Bach, himself a marvelous oil painter, was the auctioneer.
